Our Team
Meet the people who power our mission.
Founder and President
Mama Adzorhlor III
Mama Adzorhlor III is the Queen Mother of Dagbamete, a traditional leadership position she has held since 2013. As Queen Mother, she leads and represents the women of the community, mediates family and social disputes, promotes girls’ education, opposes discrimination, and ensures that women’s perspectives are included in village governance. She also oversees communal programs focused on hygiene, environmental management, and hospitality.
Drawing on her own experiences growing up in rural Ghana without access to adequate menstrual products or reproductive health education, Mama Adzorhlor III recognized the urgent need to address menstrual stigma and inequality. In 2016, she began implementing community-based programs in Dagbamete to improve menstrual health education and product access for local girls. These initiatives laid the foundation for HERGhana, which she formally established to expand this work nationally.
Under her leadership, HERGhana has grown into a widespread, established organization dedicated to menstrual equity, education, and empowerment. The foundation’s programs continue to reach communities across Ghana, promoting improved health outcomes as well as confidence, dignity, and educational continuity for young women and girls.
